As a punctuation mark on our wacky weather recently, today it hailed pea-sized chunks for several minutes.
Month: April 2011
POTD 116/365 – Bridge at Gunner Pool
On a rainy, stormy day in Memphis, I’m thinking of this bridge near Gunner Pool in Arkansas and wondering how high the Sylamore Creek is right now.
POTD 115/365 – Grizzlies Playoff Game
Go Grizz! We are up 2-1 on the series, and a win tonight would put us in the driver’s seat.
POTD 114/365 – Camping at Gunner Pool
We got a bit of rain (though, no “baseball-sized hail”), but the riding was excellent!
POTD 113/365 – Dinner in Fifty Six
Dave and I traveled to the Sylamore section of the Ozark National Forest.
In this photo, we are trying to weave our way through the hummingbirds at the door of Cody’s Restaurant in Fifty Six, Arkansas, to get some dinner.
POTD 112/365 – Barret Library Staircase
I like this perspective of the staircase in the building where I work.
POTD 111/365 – Rhodes Sundial
While it is too cloudy to tell time, this sundial is on the side of the Physics Tower.
POTD 110/365 – Easter is Coming
Jacob and Ethan with the Easter Bunny on Saturday. Ethan doesn’t know what to make of it.
POTD 109/365 – Grandson and Grandma
Ethan and Pat Pennington, at Jacob’s game last Saturday.
POTD 108/365 – Trolley Stop Market
A locovore restaurant near downtown Memphis, on Madison.
Gettin’ lost on 2-wheels with Dave. This is little spot near Sardis Lake.
POTD 106/365 – New Niece
Katherine and Hayley Katherine Pennington.
POTD 105/365 – Jacob’s Soccer Game
4-5 year old soccer is interesting.
POTD 104/365 – Mazzy
Chilling in the front yard at sunset.
POTD 103/365 – Lucky Leap
I came outside one morning to find Lucky, the cat that lives next door, standing on the rim of the birdbath.
By the time I snapped the picture, all you could see was his tail disappearing into the plants below.
POTD 102/365 – Rooftop Beers
Johnny Ballgame invited us over for rooftop beers and take in the sunset last night.
Glorious view…
POTD 101/365 – Ducks
Apparently, it rained today. I work about 20 feet underground, so I never heard the storm.
While I was playing with the dogs this evening, I came upon some ducks, rooting around in the puddles at Snowden School for food.
They weren’t scared of me, but when Jake came close, they flew off in a hurry.
Kath and I ran into this walking back to our car from the Overton Park Crawfish Festival.
I imagined that he was emerging from this mailbox with superpowers to take revenge for the massacre of his extended family.
I’m glad we were headed the other way…Â 😉
Mazzy and I biked out to Shelby Farms on the Greenline today.
She smiled all the way out and back. Every time we stopped, people wanted to pet her.
POTD 98/365 – Still Missing San Diego
I spent most of Friday upgrading a test ODS database to 8.2. If you don’t know what that means, be thankful…
So, yeah, my mind kept going back to this flower in San Diego.
