Jeff and I skipped across the border for lunch.

Despite the cool weather, I really enjoyed the beach.

Here are a couple more snaps from a fun, sunny day in SD.

A beautiful day, though one I would repeat with sunscreen next time.
I rented a bicycle and went up to Balboa Park, over to Mission Bay, along Ocean Beach, to Cabrillo National Monument, and then back downtown to meet Jeff, who flew down from San Francisco for the weekend.

Why am above the clouds? Well, technically, I’m on my way to San Diego, but metaphorically, I’m over the moon about my new niece, Hayley Katherine, who was born today.
I wish I could have been there, but I’ll see her soon.
Congratulations to the happy parents, Jaymie and April!

I can’t explain how, but something about this photo just fits.
John is sitting on one of Dave’s rebuilt project bikes.

Thanks to Dave and Christina for a lovely dinner and conversation.

One of our azaleas always blooms before her sister.

UNC just didn’t sufficiently guard against the 3.
No 1 or 2 seeds in the Final Four. Go VCU!

Frank and I took the excellent Ghost River Brewery tour today. We’d both been on the tour before but never seen so many folks in the building before.
If you find yourself in downtown Memphis on Saturday at 1 pm (and are over 21), this is a really fun way to spend an hour.

Hanging on the wall of our kitchen, not far from the fridge.

Haliburton Tower and Palmer Hall at Rhodes College on a beautiful Thursday afternoon in March.

This is a section of an Australian poster concerning the Stolen Generation in our house.

This little fella guards one of out planters on the front porch.

Some robins have adopted a nest under the eave of our porch again this year.
Last year, we had three different sets of eggs born in the nest.

My mom has been visiting us this weekend, and it has been a joy to spend some time with her.

The azalia bushes in front of our house are about to pop.

This side of the building, located on the Rhodes College campus, faces North Parkway and is rarely seen by visitors.

Enjoying a little frisbee-time.

I just thought these new plants looked kinda neat, being so symmetrical in their curving.
